THERAPY

Within our facility, we have an active therapy department who strive to restore our residents to their previous physical condition. We offer Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapy and our Restorative Aides who are all a part of our quality staff at the Manor. These services are available as an inpatient as well as on an outpatient basis. This allows you to work with the same therapist throughout your entire recovery process.

SOCIAL SERVICES

It is the responsibility of Social Services to formulate plans for admissions and discharges and to counsel families as to financial matters such as eligibility for Medicare and Medicaid. They are available for any concerns of the residents or families.

VOLUNTEERS

The Monroe City Manor Auxiliary was established in 1991 and is still going strong. The Auxiliary is a group of women from the community working together to enrich the lives of our extended family. The Auxiliary volunteers for many activities at the Manor, such as bingo, crafts and participation in socialization with the residents. Fundraisers throughout the year have been very successful and used for the good of the home. The Manor also has many other volunteers from the community who share their talent with us. For more information contact the Activity Department.

DIETARY

Our dining room is very bright and spacious. Our Dietary Department is interested in serving our residents attractive, nutritional meals. We also offer a selective menu that allows the residents to make choices about what they would like to have at each meal. The meals are then served by a host or hostess in a restaurant style manner. We also prepare special requests one time per month, which is chosen by the residents attending Resident Council. This is our "Resident Choice Meal".

about
aerial_bldg2_roofednotext_edited.png

Monroe City Manor has been serving the needs of the elderly community in Monroe City since 1977. It is a stockholder owned, 60-bed Medicare/Medicaid approved skilled nursing facility. Currently 55-58 residents reside at the facility with a staff of approximately 75 employees. Monroe City Manor has a registered nurse on duty seven days a week.

A Special Care Unit was added in 1997 to meet the needs of our Alzheimer residents and for those with special needs. It is a 12 bed locked unit that provides a quieter environment and enables more one-on-one interaction from our staff.

On-site therapy rehabilitation is available and enables many residents to return to their own homes. Therapies included speech, occupational, and physical therapy with staff who really work to get the resident back to their prior capabilities and beyond in some cases.

Other amenities include: daily laundry services, weekly shampoo and sets in the beauty shop, and a wide variety of activities on a daily basis.

A new van was recently purchased to accommodate more outings and doctor appointments. These outings include local play productions, shopping trips, area attractions, and special meal opportunities.
